who's got 2 thumbs, speaks limited french, and will have a full-term behbeh in-utero as of tomorrow?
this moi!
i'm gonna make that my fb status, just you watch.
according to le doctor, baby girl's head is in place, and she has dropped a bit. things is progressin'!
annnnyyyywaayyyyy, all my friendsies are doing all these inspirational posts about what their goals for the new year are. maybe i'm just a big fat stickinthemud but the new year never seems like a big deal to me. the months reset, it's cold outside, bigdealwhocares? amiright? HOWEVER!
while i don't typically do "resolutions" per se, i did mention to bradley the other day that i need a plan for when this baby comes. not just like. a plan on how to keep her alive..but a plan on how to keep myself sane and get myself back to normal. so. i figured i'd jot down my (completely naive and ignorant) timeline for after baby girl is born:
-date of birth. hoorah! celebrate! SUSHI! SOMEONE WILL BRING ME SUSHI!
-all of february- hang out, lie low, recover, try to sleep as much as possible. don't worry about exercising yet. eat, read, rest, feed, change diaper, clean up poop and vomit, repeat. maybe shower once or twice.
-first half of march- get outside to go walk w/ le princess for at least a few minutes every day.
-second half of march- get outside to walk w/ her majesty for at least 30 min a day 5x a week
-april- continue walking 30 min a day 3x a week, try to get some more intense cardio in 2x a week
HOPEFULLY at this point, i'll be in good enough shape to reacquaint myself with her royal buffness jillian michaels. and perhaps a little p90x? who can say? not me. i've never had a baby.
BUT i'm hoping that this little outline of getting myself sane (bc endorphins do that to you, you know) will be somewhat realistic. i have really missed exercising! never thought i'd hear myself say that. i hated working out before. well, the whole period of time when we were trying to get preggers i exercised every day (and actually enjoyed it! yay for wii fit!) because i didnt want to have extra weight to lose on top of the baby weight. and my first trimester i kept up with it a bit, but seriously, like after i hit 12 weeks, i was too tired and anemic to do anything and by the time i got my anemia treated (like 26 weeks!) i was too big and clumsy to do anything. and it's too cold to walk outside and i hate treadmills. ok so im not a hard core exerciser but i like it when it's convenient! luckily, by the time i feel like emerging from my cave again, it will be a little bit warmer and i'll WANT to go outside. i always do in the springtime.
so what do you think, moms? does this sound completely cray cray????

Way to go for setting some exercising goals! I think that's totally intimidating especially when you have bebe on the way. You're so close!
ReplyDeleteYup, it's crazy! Ha, not really, I think it's awesome. I remember after I had Daisy, strollering was a huge win-win. It was one surefire way to get her to sleep, and I just loved the fresh air and exercise. I didn't even need to make goals because we just did it so much regardless. I gained 60 pounds with that pregnancy, and I was able to lose 55 pounds without even thinking about it. Then I got pregnant again when Daisy was 7 months old, and it all went downhill from there. Literally. :) It's much easier to lose the baby weight with after your first baby! You'll be fine.
