So. World, I/we've decided to follow your ways and resurrect my starved and neglected blog. Bradley and I have been married for exactly 19 months! That is a long time. This is the 2nd or 3rd time I've tried to bring this blog to life but hopefully this time it works. I don't remember exactly what made me want to start it up again but it seemed like the thing to do.
ANYHOO. for those who wonder what exactly we are up to now, I will update. As most of you know, Bradley and I graduated from BYU's film program last August and almost immediately packed up for the East Coast to seek our fortunes. We have been staying with my parents until we find someplace affordable that is a good fit for us. Since then, Bradley landed an internship and subsequent job in the West Village with a producer who produces shows independently for Discovery networks and HBO. I am volunteering my services to said producer to edit a feature for her that will most likely end up on HBO. Meanwhile, I am using my college education here in Connecticut to watch other people's children for chump change. I actually really enjoy it but sometimes I think I should switch to something more structured and cosmopolitan. And then I look at how much I get paid watching kids. And I don't make the switch.
Times is good though! We are enjoying ourselves for the most part. Our temple district is Manhattan, so, while Bradley gets/has to be in the city everyday, I get to go at LEAST once a month. It's right across the street from Juliard so there is always an interesting crowd and great people-watching. The pizza place we go to after is supposedly a favorite, and while leaving it the other night we saw Christopher Walken and Phillip Seymour Hoffman! So, life is interesting for us.
So, while Bradley is working/on the lookout for better and better career opportunities, I am watching children, editing, and making a lot of cupcakes. There aren't a lot of young married people in Connecticut. So the amount of friends we have made is flimsy. But as soon as we find our own place, we will hopefully be in a ward/area swarming with friendless newlyweds so we can all play. Meanwhile, Bradley has watched every episode ever of Battlestar Galactica, and I am almost completely done with 30 Rock, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Top Chef, and other things. Main point: we don't have any friends our age so we watch a lot of TV. (: People are nice but what can you really do on a weekend with someone who has 5 young kids? They don't want to do the same things a 21/25 yr old couple wants to do.
However I digress. I'm done now. That is what we are up to! Hopefully I will keep posting these so you can see my AWESOME CUPCAKES, gardening ventures, city adventures, city food/dining experiences, and sarcastic movie reviews! That way you can pretend you live in NYC when you really don't! I do! Oh sorry, are you sad now?
