climbing out of the crib.

ok so i had to write this down, it had us laughing too hard to go undocumented.

bea learned to climb out of a pack n play while staying at grandparents' last week. she only does it when she is really, really, really not wanting to go to bed and having a 2 year old temper tantrum. it only happened once while we were in utah. we just got home from our month in utah this evening and decided to try and put bea down at normal time to try to get the "getting back on schedule" thing in motion. she was not happy about it. she climbed out of her crib before i even got out the door of her room. i put her back in and left the room, and soon enough she burst out of the door and came running into the living room. so we decided to put her in the big girl bed to see if she would stay. negative. she ran out of the room within seconds then too. SO. i laid down with her for a minute until she got quiet and tried to sneak out. and she ran out after me. SOOOO. we decided to put her in her crib and lock the door (it locks from the inside but she doesn't know how to unlock it yet. knock on wood.). she was banging on the door within seconds, screaming louder than i've ever heard her scream. we let her hang out by the door for a bit and it finally got quiet so i went in to check on her-- she was scrambling trying to get onto the big girl bed. i helped her in, covered her up, and tried to leave but she ran after me so i tried the old plop her in the crib and lock the door approach. she was at the door in seconds and screamed for a few minutes and then FINALLY got quiet. (this was like....90 minutes from the beginning of this whole ordeal at this point) it was quiet for a while so i went in to check on her and put her in bed, and i heard her snoring but she wasn't in her crib and not in the big girl bed... and then i turned around and saw this:

she is OUT. hahahahahaha isn't that great?!

so. i picked her up and put her in her crib and locked the door. she got up and ran to the door and then got quiet after like one minute. i went in to check on her after a minute to put her in bed and she was back in her chair! i asked her if she just wanted to sleep in her chair and she said "yeah." and i asked if she wanted a blanket and she said "no!" and then finally i asked "do you want to get in the big girl bed?" and she said "yes!" so i put her in and covered her up and she FINALLY stayed in and stayed quiet!!!
it was a crazy night full of two year old antics but bradley and i were rolling in the aisles the whole time. she keeps us laughing, that is for sure. our first order of business is to get a bed rail tomorrow! i guess big girl bed training starts now!
